Experience West Bengal
Like a Local
Family-run homestays, misty monasteries, and quiet valleys tucked beneath the Kanchenjunga. Journeys curated by the people who live them.
Home isn't a place.
It's a feeling of
being welcomed.
NorthFreak began as a single wooden house tucked away in the picturesque village called Rishop. Twelve years later, we’ve grown into a network of family homestays across Darjeeling and Gangtok. Today, each of our stays offers a unique vantage point, a distinct local story, and its own welcoming kitchen.
Our guides are locals, our meals come from the garden, and our itineraries are designed to slow you down. Come for the mountains. Stay for the people.

Words from our travellers
"We came for the mountains and left with a family. Tenzin's mother cooked us breakfast every single morning — we still write to her."
"The sunrise on Kanchenjunga from Thambi viewpoint is something I'll try (and fail) to describe for the rest of my life."
"Every detail thought of — permits, cars, meals for the kids. We just showed up and let West Bengal happen to us."
